Compliant and Compelling

Your clients don’t remember your credentials. They remember how you made them feel when it mattered most.

Financial advisors and insurance agents work in an industry built on templated websites, stock photography, and messaging that could belong to anyone. Standing out while staying compliant feels like an impossible balance. Most marketing advice either ignores the regulatory realities of the industry or strips away everything that makes an advisor’s or agent’s story worth telling in the first place.

In Earning Trust Through Story, author and story-driven marketing strategist Jenn T. Grace offers a practical approach to marketing, adapted for professionals working within strict compliance requirements. Inside, you’ll learn how to:

  • Turn your own story into marketing that sounds like you, not a script.
  • Get specific about who you serve, so your marketing stops trying to speak to everyone at once.
  • Build the kind of trust that turns a first conversation into a lasting client relationship.
  • Create content that clears compliance review the first time, without stripping out what makes it yours.
  • Turn your marketing into an ongoing rhythm, not a one-time project, so you’re always assessing, adjusting, and growing from what’s actually working.

If marketing feels like something you have to force, or something that compromises who you are as a professional, this book will change that. Earning Trust Through Story will help you build a business rooted in the same thing your clients have always trusted you for: showing up as yourself, when it counts most.

  • Want their marketing to reflect who they actually are, not a script written for compliance.

About The Author

Jenn T. Grace holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communication and has spent nearly two decades working at the intersection of storytelling, communication, and business strategy, roughly half of that directly inside the financial advisor and insurance agent communities.

She first got an up-close seat into this industry as a chamber of commerce executive director, where advisors and agents made up much of her local membership base. She went on to win Chamber of the Year nationally in that role. That work led her to build a consulting practice teaching advisors and agents how to market authentically to underserved prospective clients, work that included Fortune 500 clients directly.

Jenn went on to found Publish Your Purpose (PYP), a hybrid publishing company that has helped bring nearly 300 books into the world, and The Institute for Author Growth & Impact (AGI), an educational platform for authors.

Even as her focus widened to authors across industries, financial advisors and insurance agents remained part of that world; several of the books PYP has published were written by people in this exact profession.

In many ways, her work now is less a departure from that decade of consulting than it is a return to it, bringing everything she’s learned about storytelling, credibility, and communication back to the audience she started with.

Jenn has been recognized with multiple “40 Under 40” awards for her leadership and entrepreneurial achievements, is a 2026 finalist for the CT Impact Awards’ Impactful Woman award, and her work has been featured in Forbes, the Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and CNBC.

Whether she’s coaching a first-time author, advising a Fortune 500 team, or helping an advisor rewrite their About page, Jenn’s real skill is the same: helping people set down the version of themselves they think they’re supposed to be, and start sounding like who they actually are.
